Sponsoring How'd They Vote
While How'd They Vote plans to continue operating and providing its services free of charge, we can better serve the public by offering frequent updates and additional features. In order to do this consistently and in a timely fashion, we ideally require funds to allow our developers to contribute to the project outside of volunteer time. To date, donations to the project haven't even covered the cost of hosting the website, let alone hiring a developer.
Sponsorship Benefits
Sponsoring the project provides the following benefits:
- Ensures the sustainability and health of How'd They Vote.
- All sponsors will be listed on the project Credits page, ordered by contribution class (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze) with a link back to the sponsor. Silver sponsors and above may include a logo. Platinum sponsors may also have a logo appearing on the main page.
- Sponsors will be permitted to indicate they are project sponsors in web and other promotional materials.
- Sponsors will receive a detailed report annually on the use of sponsorship funds.
- Sponsors have influence in choosing new features and update schedules.
Sponsorship Process
Sponsors can officially support How'd They Vote for any amount of at least $250. At or above the following levels a sponsor will be designated as being one of the following class:
| $250 | Bronze Sponsor |
| $1,000 | Silver Sponsor |
| $5,000 | Gold Sponsor |
| $10,000 | Platinum Sponsor |
Sponsorships last one year, after which they may be continued with a new payment, or allowed to lapse. If there is sufficient demand for tax receipts, we will consider registering as an official non-profit (if charitable status is deemed possible).
Organizations or individuals interested in sponsoring How'd They Vote should contact Cory Horner.
